Press & Media Statement.

Pride Edinburgh returns to the Capital on Saturday 16th June 2018 with the theme of “True Colours” and our annual event will again be produced by Capital Pride, the charity we formed in 2017 to support our work.
Pride Edinburgh will be staged at the University of Edinburgh’s Student association (EUSA) buildings at Potterrow and Teviot following successful events held there in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017.
Events on the 16th June will begin with our Annual Pride Scotia March which in previous years has seen as many as 10,000 people from across the LGBTQI+ Spectrum join us to make a statement to the world. Events then begin in both Teviot House and Potterrow with a full programme of entertainment including our biggest ever Community and health and wellbeing fair, family entertainment and ceilidh dancing.
We are delighted to announce our main stage, renamed the Manchester Airport San Francisco Stage in honour of our headline sponsor will return outdoors on a specially constructed stage on Bristo Square. The stage will feature a plethora of acts including the return of Stooshe, Caitlyn Vanbeck and Pride Favourite Lloyd Daniels with more acts still to be announced.
There are also many other events planned during the day with a Youth Space, Trans space and community entertainments along with Leap sports holding a special Pride fitness centre in Potterow dome. We will also be hosting our second Annual Pride Run in the meadows on Pride morning. It’s sure to be a real celebration of diversity.

Following our successful partnership in 2017, we are delighted to welcome back the Royal Bank of Scotland as an event partner, there valued contribution will ensure our events planned for the day become a reality. RBS logo will be seen on our Pride Team T shirts.
Event Partner: Standard Life Aberdeen
We are delighted to welcome Standard Life Aberdeen as a brand-new Event Partner to Pride Edinburgh. Standard life Aberdeen (newly named following the merger in 2017) is highly respected institution in its field with an admired LGBT network of its own and Pride Edinburgh is its debt for making this year’s events possible.

Event Partner: Choose Life
Choose Life are partnering with Pride for the Third year in succession. Choose Life is a National Programme for Suicide Prevention working at a National and in Edinburgh through the City of Edinburgh Council. On Pride day we will be issuing 2000 wrist bands supporting Choose Life’s work. Pride Edinburgh is proud to work with Choose Life.
Event Partner: Edinburgh Playhouse & Kinky Boots UK Tour
We are pleased to announce our first ever official show sponsor for Pride Edinburgh. As we celebrate “True Colours” as our theme it’s only fitting we partner with Edinburgh’s home of West End theatre, The Edinburgh Playhouse and their upcoming production of smash hit “Kinky Boots”, which is strutting into Edinburgh this December. With songs by icon Cyndi Lauper, Kinky Boots is a feel-good musical with the message of acceptance and being who you want to be at its heart.

Event Partner: Aegon UK and Kames UK
Following our successful partnership in 2017 Sister companies Aegon and Kames return as partners for 2018 once again co-sponsoring the Pride Scotia March. Aegon and Kames have LGBTQI+ inclusion at the heart of the organisations both with its staff programmes and for its customers and we are delighted to welcome them back as partners.

Pride Edinburgh is fostering even closer links with LGBT youth Scotland the national charity for LGBTQI+ young people in Scotland. To support that work we are delighted to welcome HSBC UK as our co Event Partner and LGBT youth space sponsor for Pride Edinburgh 2018. Event Partner: Equality Network
The Equality Network was established 21 years ago and has successful campaigned for each step on the road to LGBTI Equality in Scotland, but there is still so much more to do. Pride Edinburgh is proud of our long-held partnership through these years and are delighted welcome the Equality Network as partner for Pride Edinburgh 2018: True Colours.

Event Partner: Monumental Marketing
Pride Edinburgh 2018: Marks Monumental’s third year of Collaborating with Pride to deliver our events. Monumental’s Founder Jamie Love works as our executive producer for the Main stage entertainment programme whilst The Company itself oversees our media presence in the wider world. We are indebted for the support and guidance Monumental offers in enabling our partnerships to grow and events to take place.

Event Partner: The Icon Awards
Our final Event partner is The Icon Awards, the national awards event that celebrates the best of Scottish Diversity and the LGBTQI+ community across Scotland. The Icon’s team will be out in force on pride day.
